How to read this documentation
The Common Impact Data Standard documentation serves several audiences. Where you should focus depends on your role.
All readers
Section titled “All readers”Everyone should read the introduction, which establishes the motivation for the standard and what it represents. Start with What is the Common Impact Data Standard? and What is “impact”?.
Leadership
Section titled “Leadership”Organizational leaders should focus on the class descriptions and diagrams that show how impact is represented, rather than the low-level technical detail. These give a working understanding of what the standard can capture and how to put it to use.
Developers
Section titled “Developers”Developers implementing the standard need the detailed class and property reference tables, and should understand the conceptual mappings between the standard’s concepts and the foundational ontologies it is built on.
